Voices of Freedom 250 is a 62-city, 50-state national initiative created to welcome, hear and honor 250,000 veterans during America’s 250th anniversary year and beyond.
Across the country, veterans will move through Voices of Freedom 250 experiences built around recognition, storytelling, connection, resources and live celebration. The National Honor Wall lives online throughout the campaign and is also featured in Honor Wall presentations within Voices Alive! events as the national tour moves across America.

Voices of Freedom 250 has written support from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Field Operations. The Houston chapter is being developed in partnership with Dr. LaShondra Jones and the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Veterans and Military Affairs, with the Houston VA Regional Office working with the team on Houston.

If your post, chapter, detachment, council, tribal veterans organization or community wants to participate, here are the practical answers before you fund anything.
Do we need eight veteran names before we contribute?
No. Fund the veteran spaces now and come back whenever you are ready. You can nominate one veteran, all eight, none of them, or place living-veteran Honor Passes into the sponsorship pool for Voices of Freedom 250 to match.
Does our post or chapter have to stop at eight?
No. Eight is the challenge—not the ceiling. Every funded veteran space is $50, so your organization can honor 8, 16, 24, 100, 500 or any other whole number that makes sense for you.
Can we honor veterans who have passed?
Yes. Any funded space can become a National Honor Wall Tribute. Approved tributes can live on the online Honor Wall and be included in Honor Wall presentations as the national tour moves across America.
If we sponsor a living veteran, are we only sponsoring Houston?
No. Living-veteran sponsorships support eligible Voices of Freedom 250 experiences as the national journey reaches communities across America. They are not limited to Houston.
Is our contribution tax-deductible?
Contributions through the 8 Veterans Challenge are received by The Bridge Life Music Career Advancement, Inc., a recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. A contribution acknowledgment will be provided.
Can our treasurer pay by check, ACH, invoice, bank transfer or wire?
Yes—use the payment path your organization requires. Secure Stripe checkout can show eligible card, wallet and U.S. bank account / ACH options. If your organization needs an invoice or instructions for check, bank transfer or wire, contact our team and we will help you complete it.

What happens after we contribute?
Once payment is confirmed, you finish a short organization setup. We create your public Challenge ID, private Access Key and secure dashboard with exactly the number of veteran spaces you funded. Then you can assign those spaces at your own pace.
Do we have to put our organization on the public Challenge Roll?
No. Public recognition is optional. If you choose it, only your organization or unit name, city/state and number of veterans funded appear publicly. Contact information and veteran information stay private.

Every funded space saves independently. An authorized administrator can return with the private Access Key and continue exactly where the team left off.

Successful paid Challenge contributions are counted automatically. Participating organizations may also choose to be recognized publicly. Private veteran, family and contact information never appears on the Roll.
PUBLIC RECOGNITION WILL APPEAR HERE AS ORGANIZATIONS APPROVE IT.
Paid veteran totals update automatically after successful payment. Organization and unit names appear only when the participating organization opts into public recognition.
