A referral gives someone a number. A Warm Handoff gives them a person.
How a Warm Handoff works
Tell us what would help. Nothing is shared until you authorize the connection.
The Muster uses your local community and the needs you select to help identify a participating organization that may be appropriate. A coordinator can then make a direct connection with your consent. Sponsorship or partnership status never determines where a request is routed.
1. Describe what would help.Select the areas where a connection would be useful and add only the context you want the coordinator to know.
2. Authorize the connection.Your contact information is not shared with an organization unless you explicitly approve the Warm Handoff.
3. A local coordinator reviews it.The request can be sent to a participating organization that serves the need and community you identified.
4. The next step stays visible. The receiving organization can acknowledge, accept, redirect, or close the handoff so the request does not disappear into a referral list.
